You outlined this process so well, Wendy. It made me wish I could apply for a job so that I could go through the process. I didn't realize how specific one should be in their CV and job application, using the exact words from the advert.

Thanks Julie :-)

Many people make the mistake of being to vague and assuming that recruiters will read between the lines. In reality, they don't have time to do this as they get hundreds of applications for each role.

Plus if they are using AI or a digital screening system, it will look for keywords and applicants may get screened out before a human sees their application.

I didn’t even think about AI readers.

I know. Sad isn’t it that we have to know how to get past the bots!

Wendy, thank goodness applying for jobs is out of my wheelhouse! However, I enjoy reading your posts, and I decided to read this one through.

You gave me some great pointers about training a virtual assistant to book me on podcasts.

I've been on more than 100 podcasts since my book was published and decided it's time to go back on a virtual book tour.

Here's an idea. Write a post on how to apply to be on a podcast and get booked more often. I bet it'll go viral!

Lol, glad you enjoyed it. Great idea to get AI to turn it into a method for applying to podcasts!

And how about writers who want to have a column in a big publication

I'm chuckling here thinking about when I wanted to write for beginning poker players as a beginning player as I learned.

It was 1998 and my secretary told me I had to write my own QUERY letter. She said it had to show how I wrote.

Isn't that what we do everyday with notes on Substack?
